How to Make Ghost Choccy Biscuits

Five simple steps stand between you and a tray full of little Halloween ghosts.

1

Prepare Your Ghostly Base

Line a baking tray with baking paper and place your choccy biscuits flat-side down, leaving a little room between each one.

Next, ask a grown-up to carefully cut each marshmallow in half horizontally. These fluffy little halves are about to become your ghosts!

2

Mix Up Some Ghostly Icing

Add the icing sugar mixture and lemon juice to a small bowl. Stir them together until thoroughly combined and smooth.

Think of this as your ghost’s flowing white sheet. The drippier and wobblier it looks later, the better!

3

Build Your Little Ghosts

Lightly dip the cut side of each marshmallow half into the icing, then place it in the centre of a biscuit.

Repeat until every biscuit has its own fluffy ghost taking centre stage.

They might not look particularly spooky just yet, but a little North Pole kitchen magic is coming…

4

Give Your Ghosts Their Disguises

Working one biscuit at a time, spoon approximately ½ teaspoon of icing over the top of each marshmallow.

Gently spread it so the icing begins to drip down the sides. There’s no need to make every ghost identical. Wonky edges and wobbly drips give each one its own ghostly personality!

Once iced, leave the biscuits to dry completely for around 1–2 hours.

5

Bring Your Ghosts to Life

Now for the really fun bit.

Once the icing has completely dried, use black writing icing to give each ghost a face.

Try wide spooky eyes, surprised mouths, silly smiles or completely different expressions for every ghost. Will yours look scary, startled or suspiciously excited about being eaten?
